The FOUNDERS JM Nkomo & DV Gama having a vast knowledge & experience in the hair & beauty industry committed themselves to open The Beauty Hub Academy
The Beauty Hub Academy is an organization dedicated to training underprivileged youths to gain relevant Hairdressing and Beauty skills so that they can be employable and in return be able to support their families financially and enhance their quality of life. We have been dedicated to this goal since 2016 and have successfully enrolled 575 beneficiaries till to date. In addition to training in hairdressing, beauty, and massage, we offer additional services to our students from life skills training and motivational sessions to social workers who provide pyscho social support to address and reduce experiences of gender based abused victims, and any associated crime in the community. When our students graduate, the academy works to assist each graduate to secure employment in which they can use their newly earned skills. Graduates from our programmes are engaged in a variety of employment opportunities. Some are working in hair salons in positions found through our relationships with salons, others are working independently, making house calls. The Beauty Hub Academy has also created a work placement programme that involves our graduates providing services to older persons in the community at Residential homes, Service centres and Luncheon clubs . This opportunity has given our learners competitive advantage that allows them to stand out to potential employers as they gain work experience. The elderly also appreciate the services and it has been edifying to see and hear their appreciation.
Our goal is to continue to focus on how the Academy supports its students through education, training and business development skills to gain or create employment for themselves as part of the sustainable livelihood mandate.. We have expanded our programme to Pretoria where we have set up a location similar to our Flagship in Johannesburg. In addition through our partnership with Services SETA we are providing short skills training in Gauteng, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga.
To continue to successfully deliver our mandate we continuously looking for funding to continue with our mission to educate and train young South Africans who will become the drivers of our economy.
